“Bollocks to Brexit” Speaker Bercow refuses to allow a vote on the New Deal to Leave the EU

The Speaker, having let Theresa May bring her deal back to the House 3 times, refuses to allow the new Deal negotiated by Number 10 to be voted on.

The Speaker claims that the vote on Letwin’s amendment counts as a vote on the New Deal, and therefor there does not need to be a so called “second vote.”

Interestingly, when challenged from the House about the legality of the Withdrawal Act, which says that the Law clearly states the UK Leaves the EU by October 31st – and that this fact is unaffected by the Benn Act – the Speaker said,

“I make no comment on the Law, only my judgement.”

Sounds like no deal Brexit is on the cards.

The speaker has been called “a W**ker” by the back benches.

The Benn Act hasn’t changed the Leave date.

Sir Bernard Jenkin accused Mr Bercow of bias, saying it was “remarkable how often the Speaker pleased one lot and not the other.

It is most unusual for a Speaker so often to prevent the government having a debate on the matters which the government wish put before the House.”

Fellow MP David TC Davies said: “The only consistency one can find in your rulings is that they always seem to favour one side of the argument and never the government.”

If he was defending the House from an abuse inflicted upon it, you could defend him. But he is defending the House from abuses it has inflicted on the people.
