Labour MP tells hard truths about Jimmy Savile in Margaret Thatcher’s home town

1212

We have disagreed with a lot of his conduct with regards to internal Labour politics in the past, but this is more important than that. To go to Margaret Thatcher’s constituency and say this about Jimmy Savile is massively important, and on the topic of Child Abuse his record as an MP is impeccable:

“There was a man called Jimmy Savile…and until clear allegations were made against him, nobody came forward.

When they did make allegations, vast numbers of people came forward, including some of my constituents.

This is a problem this country has not got its head round yet.”

Labour MP John Mann for Bassetlaw gives a fantastic speech on the importance of believing victims of abuse.
